Louisville Zoo, Louisville KY

For the Louisville Zoo I painted the aviary, which features a large flight room at the center surrounded by exhibits for other animals around the periphery. For the story of these “bunkers” and the purpose they served in camouflaging architectural features, read Hidden Features, or the Art of Camouflage.

About a year later I returned to Louisville to paint their gorilla building, and I haven’t found my photos of that exhibit.
