I’ve painted murals for three environmental centers for the Philadelphia Fairmont Park Commission over several years: the Wissahickon Environmental Center, often called the Tree House, Pennypack Park Environmental Center and the Cobb’s Creek Environmental Education Center. While the subjects were the same — local flora and fauna — the variety of images was very satisfying, and being a nature center frequenter myself, I enjoyed seeking out many of those flora and fauna nearby for reference.
This interpretive center was a cabin in a beautiful natural setting above a creek which originally had a large tree growing through the porch roof, hence the name.
