In 1998 I painted a rainforest mural that would serve as a backdrop to the real foliage in the conservatory at the Quad City Botanical Center in Rock Island, Illinois. Rock Island is one of four cities spanning the Mississippi River on Illinois’ western border with Iowa.
While painting, I was visited by a news crew from Rock Island Channel 4.
I came away with no good photos of the finished mural but have found some beautiful photos of the conservatory online in which my mural is just visible in the background.
